Frank Rittner

General Manager & Chief Facilitator, UNEP-GEF Technology Transfer Networks, Paris-Washington

Mr. Frank Rittner is the General Manager of Technology Transfer Networks, which is a strategic partnership between the GEF (Global Environment Facility) in Washington, DC, and the UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) in Paris. He believes in a holistic approach in dealing with environmental issues and seeks optimal solutions in resources utilization.

Among his numerous professional achievements, Mr. Rittner developed programs and services that integrated environmental concerns in energy sector and rural market development by empowering public and private sector clients to identify "win/win" opportunities. He led exploration of
innovative clean technology market promotion instruments and risk management tools. He managed diverse clean energy and cleaner production project portfolios with the volume of more than $400 million. He established complex partner networks in the areas of renewable energy
and natural resource management.

Mr. Rittner has more than ten years of professional experience in managing complex networks to promote sustainable business alternatives and
related private-public partnerships; five additional years of professional experience in applied economic and developmental research. He also has
grass roots experience in resource management and public transportation.
