President and CEO

Mr. Lu has been UTStarcom's President, CEO and a director since June 1991. Prior to founding Unitech Telecom, Inc. (which would later merge with Starcom Networks, Inc. to form UTStarcom), Mr. Lu was President and CEO of Kyocera Unison, a majority-owned subsidiary of Kyocera International, Inc. From 1983 until its merger with Kyocera in 1986, he was President and CEO of Unison World, Inc., a software development company. Prior to that he was Chief Operating Officer of Unison World, Inc. Mr. Lu holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese and English.
