Daniel Mao is Chief Operating Officer for SINA.com, the world's most visited Chinese portal and a leading Internet destination network for Chinese communities worldwide. Before joining SINA.com, Daniel Mao served as vice president of Walden International Investment Group, overseeing investments in technology-based companies in the United States, China and Hong Kong. He has served as a director for numerous companies in the areas of telecommunications, networking, software, Internet services and technology, semiconductors and medical equipment.

In his college years, Mao started up an enterprise software company. He holds a master's degree in Engineering Economic Systems from Stanford University and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Jiaotong University in Shanghai, China.
