Prof. Yasheng Huang

He is an Associate Professor in the area of Business, Government and International Economy. His current work examines institutional and policy drivers of foreign direct investments in China. He has published widely, including two books, Inflation and Investment Controls in China (Cambridge University Press, 1996) and FDI in China (Singapore: Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, 1998). He joined Harvard Business School in 1997. His previous appointments include assistant professor at the University of Michigan and consultant to the World Bank between 1987 and 1989.

Yasheng Huang has held or received prestigious fellowships such as the National Fellowship at Stanford University and the Social Science Research Council-MacArthur Fellowship. Outside HBS, Professor Huang is a Faculty Associate at the Center for International Affairs and Fairbank Center at Harvard University, a Fellow at the Center for Chinese Economic Research at Tsinghua University and the Institute of International Relations at Peking University, a Fellow at the William Davidson Institute at Michigan Business School and a World Economic Forum Fellow.

He received his BA in 1985 and Ph.D. in Government in 1991, both from Harvard University.
